Despite Apple’s strict control, there are still many malicious programs lurking in the App Store for iPhone users. See a list of their names here.
Apple has strict control over iOS platform applications. Users of this platform can only download their programs from the App Store, and Apple receives a 30% commission from developers! Despite these strict measures by Apple, which many describe as unfair, many malicious programs can still be found in the App Store.
Apple does not suffer from many iPhone malware
to report Vpncheck websiteAs of March 2021, Apple has taken no specific action on a large number of the 133 App Store malware found by Avast. Since then, these applications have been downloaded about 500 million times and have earned Apple about 365 million dollars in profit.
Fifteen months later, 84 apps from this list are still present in the App Store and continue to be downloaded. These applications are known as fleeceware and are designed with the aim of gradually emptying users’ pockets! So although these programs are not considered malware in any way and do not steal your data; But due to the possibility of shaving additional expenses for users, they are classified as malicious programs.
According to Vpnheck estimates, these applications have sales of about 100 million dollars per year and with about 7.2 million downloads, they have a monthly income of about 8.6 million dollars.
Identifying this category of malicious iPhone programs is not that difficult. Most of them fall into the category of virtual music tools or tools such as calculators or flashlights. Also, some of these malicious applications are hidden behind programs such as predictions, image and video filters and editors, phone sound manipulation and enhancement programs, question-and-answer-oriented games, or even background image download programs.
Another way to identify this category of programs is their positive reviews and excessive five stars, which are registered with the purpose of hiding negative reviews!
Most of these applications usually have a free trial period, and despite the fact that you can usually find completely free alternatives for them, after this trial period has passed, they charge users for various reasons. Usually, there are many hidden and unpredictable expenses in the heart of these programs; So that most users either pay several times under different excuses or end up paying more than they expected.
On the other hand, most of these applications are designed in such a way that it is very difficult to disable their services; So that even after removing these programs, you may still be charged for various reasons. In addition, many of these malicious programs also falsely use advertising practices such as “recommended by Apple” labels.
If you use any of the 84 apps below and you are unable to disable their services, we recommend that you limit paying for them. The list of these applications is as follows:
