In a letter, the Iranian Blockchain Association criticized the draft plan for organizing cryptocurrencies

By sending a letter to the Parliament’s Economic Commission yesterday, the Blockchain Association of Iran criticized the draft content of the plan “Organization and Development of Crypto Assets”. According to the members of the association, no copy of this document has been officially sent to them.

The Economic Commission of the Parliament has recently sent a draft plan under the title of organizing and developing cryptocurrencies to institutions such as the Judiciary, the Vice President for Science and Technology, the Central Bank, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Information, the Revolutionary Guards, the National Center for Cyberspace and Nasr Kishore and asked them to to send their comments regarding this plan to the Economic Commission by December 21.

Now the Blockchain Association of Iran has written a letter protesting against not sending a copy of this document to this organization and criticizing its content. Blockchain community experts generally believe that this document is not mature enough to become a law.

One of the main criticisms of Blockchain Association experts is on the sixth chapter of this document, in which a license is considered for activities such as education, investment consulting, portfolio management and the provision of trading services, the issuance of which is entrusted to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

In the text of the Iranian Blockchain Association’s letter to the Economic Committee of the Parliament, it is stated:

There is a concern that due to the criminalization that has been carried out in the sixth chapter of this document in an unprofessional manner, the field of migration of businesses abroad as well as the migration of the rest of the expert workforce who are working in the field of extraction, exchange and training in the country. , to be pushed abroad.

Adopting a license-based approach, not sending a copy to the FATA police and the e-commerce development center, increasing the sensitivity of international institutions and increasing the risk of economic sanctions on domestic businesses, creating a monopoly in the market and ignoring past legal approvals and instructions in the field of digital currency mining are the flaws that the Blockchain Association Iran has accepted the draft of this plan.
