Increasing production and decreasing Oman’s oil exports

According to the report of Fars News Agency’s International Economy reporter, citing Zawiya, Oman’s daily oil production in January was more than one million barrels per day and increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
Oman produced 1.06 million barrels of oil per day last month, while the country’s oil production figure in January 2022 was 1.02 million barrels. In general, this country has produced more than 33 million barrels of oil in January, which is 1.180 thousand barrels more than last year.
Oman produced a total of 388 million barrels of oil in 2022, which has increased by about 10% compared to 354 million barrels in 2021. The important point is that despite the increase in Oman’s oil production, the country’s exports in January decreased by 6.9% compared to the same period last year and reached 26 million barrels.
The country exported 319 million barrels of oil in 2022, which was 10.6% more than 288.9 million barrels in 2021.
The biggest buyer of Oman’s oil is China, and this country sent 83% of its oil exports to China in January 2023. However, Oman’s oil exports to China have decreased by 1.37% compared to the same period last year. Oman’s oil exports to India also decreased by 29%.
