Instagram will soon allow you to repost other people’s posts on your page. The Instagram repost feature has recently been activated for some users as a test.
Meta Company, as the parent company of Instagram, recently announced that it plans to add the ability to re-share posts to the Instagram feed section, and in this regard, this feature is currently activated in a test form for some users. Also, the developers of Instagram added a new tab called Repost to this social network, which will be the place of republished posts.
The ability to repost other people’s posts on Instagram
Users of the popular social network Instagram can’t repost other people’s posts directly, and for this they have to get help from other applications. In this regard, the Repost feature will make it easy to republish posts without the help of other applications.
It should be noted that the ability to repost or republish posts in the virtual space became famous after the ability to retweet on Twitter, and some time later, other platforms also considered a similar possibility for their users. While Instagram is planning to offer the Repost feature to its users soon, the Tik Tok application as a fierce competitor of Instagram has also added the Repost button to this application and is testing it.
Of course, unlike Twitter’s retweet and Instagram’s repost, the Repost function in Tik Tok will not publish the reposted content in the user’s profile and will only be transferred to the “For You” section of friends’ feeds, but Instagram is trying to implement this function in the followers’ feeds and Also put it in the user’s profile in the Repost tab.
In a situation where Instagram plans to provide the capabilities of other applications to its users, but users want this popular social network to return to its original roots and maintain its originality. In fact, Meta’s recent actions to compete with Tik Tok have caused a large number of users to distance themselves from Instagram.
