International Monetary Fund: Iran’s economic growth last year was 2.5 percent


According to the correspondent of the International Economic Group of Fars News Agency, the latest report of the International Monetary Fund’s world economic outlook, which was published a few minutes ago, announced that Iran’s economic growth in 2022 will be 2.5 percent.

This is while this international institution predicted Iran’s economic growth for 2022 at 3 percent in its autumn report.

According to the report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Iran’s economic growth rate in the coming year (2023) is also predicted to be 2%.

In its previous reports, the fund had announced that Iran’s economic growth rate in 2021 would be 4 percent, this rate would be 3.4 percent in 2020, 6.8 percent in 2019, and 6 percent in 2018.

According to this report, Iran’s inflation rate in 2022 (last year) was equal to 49%; Iran’s inflation rate in 2021 was announced as 40.1%.

According to the announcement of the International Monetary Fund, Iran’s inflation rate will decrease to 42.5% this year (2023).

Iran’s inflation rate in 2020 was 36.4%.

* Reducing the unemployment rate in 2022

The International Monetary Fund has announced that the country’s unemployment rate in 2022 will be 9.5%, which has decreased compared to 2021.

According to the previous IMF report, the country’s unemployment rate this year (2021) was announced at 9.8 percent.

Also, according to the prediction of this international organization, Iran’s unemployment rate will reach 9.8% in 2023, i.e. this year. In this way, the unemployment rate will increase in the coming year.

* Increasing the trade balance rate in 2022

Also, Iran’s current account balance has reached 4.7% in 2022, which will decrease to 1.8% this year and increase again to 1.9% in the following year.
