Interview with Ammar Hakim, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East
According to the Iraqi National News Agency, during a meeting with Mikhail Bogdanov, Ammar al-Hakim stressed the importance of Russia for Iraq in the military, economic and educational fields.
The leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement also spoke about the importance of Russia’s role in resolving the problems facing the region, saying that dialogue and rapprochement between the parties is the best solution to these problems.
He also noted the nature of the challenges facing Iraq, saying “there is some confusion and imbalance as a result of the election.”
Earlier, the Iraqi Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced the results of the recent parliamentary elections, emphasizing the change of five seats compared to the results of the initial announcement, and that the final approval must be made by the Iraqi Federal Court.
The commission stressed that the results were announced after reviewing all complaints and protests, but that the Iraqi federal court must make the final approval.
According to the Iraqi High Electoral Commission, the five parliamentary seats in Baghdad, Ninawa, Erbil, Kirkuk and Basra have changed as a result of the investigation of election complaints.
