Morteza Rizvanfar, a member of the scientific board of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, stated in this regard: The inscription “Open to the government always in this door/ By the right of the witness in la ilaha illallah” in a long period of time as a “header’s inscription” for many historical buildings in the cities. Istanbul in Turkey, Darband in Russia, Baku in Azerbaijan, Kabul in Afghanistan, Khiva in Uzbekistan, Peshawar in Pakistan and even the island of Crete in Greece have been used.
He said: the large extent of this inscription in countries with Persian, Turkish, Urdu languages… indicates the role of Persian language. It has been regardless of political, geographical, religious and linguistic divisions.
Rezvanfar added: For example, Iran and Ottomans, which have been in conflict with each other for about four centuries and have different languages and religions. They used this inscription for their imperial palaces in Ali Qazvin and Topqapi in Istanbul.
A member of the academic board of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism stated: The Sardar inscription is a symbol to introduce the identity and beliefs of the residents of the building. In this bilingual inscription, the guest is invited to two things. One is the first stanza that invites the guest to enter the owner’s palace. The second stanza, or the phrase “Ashhad en la ilaha illallah”, which is a condition for entering Islam, honors the guest by entering Islam.
He stated: The symmetry between the “door” of the house to enter it and witnessing the oneness of God to enter the religion of Islam is created between the two stanzas of the poem. It has doubled its beauty as it has two hinges like a “door”.
Razvanfar said: Apart from the mentioned inscription, there are many inscriptions from the easternmost point of China to Africa and Europe. Persian language has been used as an intermediary language in land and sea trade, religion and art. Undoubtedly, as long as the poetry of Ferdowsi, Khayyam, Nizami, Rudaki, Maulana, Saadi and other notables in the field of Persian poetry and literature are alive, the Persian language will continue.
