Introducing the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED laptop at CES 2022

In addition to introducing the new generation of its ROG gaming laptops at CES yesterday, Asus also unveiled its 2022 ZenBook 14 series of laptops with the latest generation of Intel and AMD processors. The first thing that stands out about the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED laptop is the new and updated design of the device compared to the previous generation, which looks like a positive and beautiful change.
Introducing the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED laptop
In designing the new generation ZenBook 14, Asus has considered simplicity more than before and has considered a more minimalist design for this attractive device. Taiwanese manufacturer ZenBook 14 OLED will launch different versions with new generation Intel and AMD processors. Users looking to take advantage of DDR5 memory or the Thunderbolt high-speed interface will need to opt for the Intel Alder Lake-P twelfth-generation processor configuration.
Versions equipped with AMD chips come with LPDDR4X RAM. Aside from the type of RAM, the new Asus laptop can be equipped with up to 16 GB of RAM, while the working frequency of the memories in the DDR5 versions is naturally higher. You can also use up to 1TB of high-speed PCIe NVMe memory for data storage. On the plus side, there’s an extra M.2 slot on the device’s board that you can upgrade to your laptop if needed. The power required by the device is supplied by a 75 watt hour battery and the weight of this model is less than 1.3 kg.
As the ZenBook 14 OLED is a lightweight and slim ultrabook, the variety of ports on this device is quite appropriate. This laptop is equipped with two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, an HDMI 2.0 output, a headphone jack and a MicroSD memory card slot. If you choose the Intel version of the device, you will have two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 interface, through which data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps.
Equipped with high quality display
But we come to probably the most important and attractive part of the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED laptop where a 14-inch display with OLED panel is used. The resolution of this display is equal to the super value of 2880 by 1800 pixels with a 16:10 aspect ratio that the maximum brightness of this screen reaches 550 nits. This panel is able to cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and also supports DisplayHDR 500 True Black. 90Hz images are updated on this screen, while the panel’s response time is only 0.2 milliseconds.

Asus will also release a version of the ZenBook 14 OLED called the Space Edition, which inherits many of the features of the standard version of the device, but this model can be equipped with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM. Obviously this model of device can only be supplied with Intel processors. The Space Edition is also equipped with a smaller 63 watt-hour battery. Another difference that distinguishes this model from the standard version is the presence of a 3.5-inch external OLED display, which is inspired by the MIR space station.
Asus has not yet announced the price of the ZenBook 14 OLED and ZenBook 14x OLED Space Edition, but the company has promised to release more details about these devices in the second half of the year, when the two laptops will hit the market.
