Inversion at foreign festivals / Why do some celebrities lie?

Fars News Agency – Cinema Group: Iranian cinema has usually had a different presence at international film festivals, with films appearing in these art circles that often do not represent Iranian society and the Iranian climate. These films, so-called “festival films”, are usually accompanied by some intellectual, blackmailing or questioning of Islamic law, and for this reason, they are popular with festivals.

Examples that previously existed in the works of Bahman Ghobadi, Jafar Panahi and Mohammad Rasulov. In recent months, similar films have been screened at foreign festivals, including Behtash Sanaei (The Ode of the White Cow) and Ali Asgari (Until Tomorrow), the most recent of which is Sahar Mosaybi (Orka).

Another aspect of the presence of Iranian films in Western festivals is the attachment of the director and actors to the film to reverse and complete the anti-Iranian puzzle. This means that when the film is not able to express the concepts favored by Westerners naked due to passing through the filters of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the director or actor enters the stage and speaks at a press conference or on the sidelines of the festival, destroying Iran’s image.

The celebrities, knowing that after the spread of social networks, their speeches in non-Iranian media will be republished in the official and unofficial domestic media, still do not hesitate to make unrealistic statements. This benevolence and dancing usually has underlying reasons, such as receiving financial support, renewing an American passport, etc., and finally escaping the internal consequences of their words by softening their positions or pointing out the translator’s mistake!

In the latest example, Taraneh Alidosti, who is attending the 37th Santa Barbara Film Festival in the United States, made a false claim about the ban on women swimming in Iran. Guinness has registered in his name but does not have a sports identity in his country; Because swimming is officially forbidden for women in Iran!

After these unrealistic remarks by the actress, in addition to social media users who reminded the actress of various women’s swimming competitions, “Shahrnaz Vernos”, the vice president of the women’s swimming federation, also invited her to watch the record-breaking swimming competitions as a guest. Women Sit, which will be held on March 10 and 11.

Reacting to the protests of users and athletes, Alidosti posted a story on his personal page: “The ban on swimming in official and international arenas for Iranian women is not my personal opinion. The story of Orca is a film in which the events, dialogues and rules are documented and based on reality. “The story of this ban is the story of bio-heroes like Elham Asghari …”

In 2009, Elham Sadat Asghari managed to swim more than 5,500 meters with his hands closed and set a record. He was able to record this success in the Guinness Book of Records. Asghari had said: I was able to record my records by maintaining the Islamic cover of my coat, pants and mask; Although with these clothes, I gained 6 kilos.
