Theater News Base: The unveiling and play-reading session of two plays with “Invitation to Acid Spraying Ceremony” and “Chewing Gum” will be held on Saturday, April 10, 1401 at 8:30 PM at the Shahrzad Theater Campus.

Rahmanian, who has lived in Canada for some time over the past decade, describes two of his plays: “Invitation to the Acid Spray” written in 2012 in Vancouver, Canada for a monologue. But it was read only once in Tehran, in the garden of the Qasr Prison Museum, in the last days of Esfand 92, and this is the second time that it has been read on the occasion of the publication of the play.

He reminds: The play “Chewing Gum” was also written for performance in the winter of 2015 in Ariana Gallery and, of course, was staged in Iranshahr Theater the following summer. This time, under the pretext of publishing the play, parts of it will be read by Mahtab Nasirpour, Afshin Hashemi, Andisheh Fooladvand and Farzin Mohaddes.

Rahmanian points out that “chewing gum” was written, practiced, and performed primarily for the purpose of “performance.” A simple combination of Farah Soltani’s paintings, episodic text and Iranian and foreign songs. For this reason, it was performed for the first time in a gallery and the second time with changes in a theater.

He owes the play “Invitation to Acid Spraying” to two works; “To the Damage of Tobacco” by Anton Chekhov and “Report to the Academy” by Franz Kafka go on: The former is a play and the latter a short story. Works that have gone far beyond novelty and heresy and always have lessons to learn.

The two plays “Invitation to Acid Spraying Ceremony” and “Chewing Gum” have been published by “Paper House” and under the supervision of Elnaz Ismaili. The explanation on the back of this book states: The two plays in this book, with all their differences, have one thing in common; And that goes beyond the usual forms of dramatization to achieve unusual theatrical techniques.

Sardar Sarmast is in charge of composing and arranging the music for this play, and this meeting will be held at 8:30 pm on Saturday, April 10, at the Shahrzad Theater.
