Iran achieved the highest production growth among the steel giants


According to Fars News Agency, citing public relations ImidroIn January and February of this year, Iran’s total crude steel production reached 5.3 million tons. Also, according to the association, our country’s steel production reached 2.5 million tons in February, which is 3.7 percent more than the same period last year.

On the other hand, the total production of 64 members of the World Steel Association reached 299.4 million tons, which is 5.5% less than the performance of the same period in 2021. During the mentioned period, China with minus 10 percent, Brazil with minus 5.8 percent, Turkey with minus 5.7 percent, South Korea with minus 2.6 percent and Japan with minus 2.4 percent were faced with steel production. Growth was followed by Germany with 1.1 percent, Russia with 1 percent and the United States with 6 tenths of a percent.

China, the world’s largest steel producer, reached 158 million tonnes in the first two months of 2022. US steel production reached 13.4 million, Japan 15.1 million, India 20.9 million, South Korea 11.2 million, Germany 6.5 million, Turkey 6.1 million, Brazil 5.6 million and Russia 12.4 million tons.
