Iran and Russia signed a cooperation memorandum to strengthen tourism


According to Moj news agency, Iran and the Russian Federation on Friday to strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation Tourism They signed a memorandum of cooperation.

This memorandum was signed by Ali Asghar Shalbafian, Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, and Dmitry Bakhrokov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, on the sidelines of the 14th Russia-Islamic World Economic Summit in Kazan, Russia.

According to this memorandum, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation implement the provisions of the agreement between the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Government of the Russian Federation regarding the cancellation of group travel visas of the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation dated April 8. 1369 will cooperate.

Introducing and strengthening tourism as an important and attractive destination for cooperation, assisting and supporting the increase in the number of tourists in the two countries, developing human resources in the travel and tourism sector of the two countries, and helping to prepare innovative tourism products, especially through the introduction of attractions. The cultural and natural heritage and the development of recreational tourism are among the goals of this memorandum.

In this agreement, Iran and Russia emphasized the exchange of experts in the field of tourism, exchange of experiences, information related to the expansion, management and development of all types of tourism, including historical and cultural tourism, nature tourism and the creation of new marine tourism routes.

Facilitating and encouraging the participation of representatives of the tourism sector in international tourism events in their countries, encouraging the cooperation of the private sector of the two countries in the fields of investment and trade related to tourism and encouraging cooperation to hold familiarization tours for tour guides, travel service offices, journalists and government officials of the two countries. The country is one of the other provisions of this memorandum in order to introduce tourism attractions and capabilities.

Shalbafian said in this ceremony: Russia can become one of the priority markets for Iranian tourism. Before the pandemic, Russia’s tourism capacity was more than 10 million people, which is estimated at 10 billion dollars, and from today, Russian tourists who travel to Iran can get visas at the airport. Group travelers do not need a visa. In addition, Russian investors have shown interest in investing in Iran’s tourism sector. This issue will be discussed at a special meeting in November.

Vakhrokov also said: We expect visa-free trips for tourists from Iran to Russia to be launched this summer. In addition, from July, Iranian citizens can also receive an electronic visa to travel to the Russian Federation.

Before this ceremony, in a meeting with the presence of Iranian and Russian delegations, the solutions to strengthen tourism of the two countries were discussed and it was emphasized on the continuation of contacts to facilitate the issuance of group visas for the citizens of the two countries through the travel agencies introduced by the two countries.

In this meeting, Alireza Peyman Pak, Deputy Minister of Peace and Head of Trade Development Organization, Ali Asghar Shalbafian, Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, and Dmitry Bakhrokov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation were present.
