Morteza Yazdkhasti, pointing out that one of the topics of this event is to address the role of expanding rail, road, wharf and port facilities on the sustainable development of the steel industry, said: Isfahan Steel with the production of national rail, an important contribution to development It has provided rail transportation and therefore it is expected that the railways of the Islamic Republic will use all their power to realize the railway development plan according to the 1404 vision document.

He added: “According to the mentioned document, by 1404, we should have 25,000 kilometers of railways, but unfortunately, we now have only 15,000 kilometers, which shows a long distance until the realization of the plan.”

A member of the board of directors of Isfahan Steel added: “The production of national rails in Isfahan Steel has joined Iran in the group of producers of this product, and therefore other areas should make the necessary efforts to develop this important infrastructure.”

Yazdkhasti considered the speed of trade and commerce in rail transportation as one of the main problems in this sector and said: “In terms of speed, we have a big difference with other countries, so that despite the parity of our rail laying with countries like Turkey.” And Ukraine, the volume of tonnage transported by rail transport of those countries is several times that of Iran.

Referring to the benefits of rail transportation and the role it plays in the development of the country’s industry, including the steel industry, which is also mentioned in the country’s comprehensive steel plan, a member of the Zobahan board said: to achieve an annual production of 55 million tons of steel According to the Vision 1404 document, infrastructure, including rail transport, should be further developed, while the conditions of this transport do not meet our current production, and this problem is also seen in the supply of raw materials for Isfahan Steel.

At present, the slowness of freight wagons and the shortage of wagons for transporting rail goods have become a factor for the transportation of mineral goods by road, and in recent days, this issue has caused a severe shortage of raw materials for Isfahan steel products.

The 23rd International Steel Symposium and Exhibition is being held by the Iranian Iron and Steel Association at the Kish International Conference Center from December 14 to 15.
