Iran became a supervisory member of the Financial Information Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States

According to this report, the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the Commonwealth of Nations (CHFIU) with the initiative of the Commonwealth of Independent States on December 15, 2012 (December 5, 2012) with the aim of establishing a coordinating body in the Commonwealth of Nations to ensure the organization and coordination of the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) was established. The aforementioned council submits its reports to the Council of Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

This report adds that Khani, the head of the Financial Intelligence Center, informed about the submission of several reports on the actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing to the Eurasian Regional Group of the Fatf Financial Institution and stated that these presentations were welcomed by the member countries and others.
