Iran is ready to help to solve the situation around the nuclear power plant of Ukraine – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news



According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Tass, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, after talking with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, announced in a press conference: Tehran is ready to help resolve the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. .

Iran’s foreign minister also said: We believe that we should use all available options to get out of this situation [در اطراف نیروگاه] and in this regard, the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the key players in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and is ready to provide any assistance to ensure peace and tranquility in the nuclear energy project and in the territory adjacent to this power plant.

Ukraine’s Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is under the control of Russian forces. The Ukrainian military regularly bombards the plant with its armed forces using heavy artillery, drones and rocket systems. In most cases, air defense systems have repelled the attacks, but some missiles hit infrastructure targets and nuclear waste storage areas, posing a risk of nuclear radiation leakage.

Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and talked with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country, Sergey Lavrov, during his trip to Russia.

Also, Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, who recently arrived in the capital of Ukraine in the past few days, announced the start of the agency’s inspectors’ move to the controversial Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine. Grossi, who entered Ukraine with a 13-person team, said: “Finally, we set off.” We will stay at the power plant (Zaprogeia) for a few days and then we will report.

Grossi tweeted: “We must protect and ensure the safety of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.”

The Zaporizhzhya power plant, which is considered the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, is on the front line of the war between Russia and Ukraine, and its numerous bombings in recent days by the Ukrainian army have led to increased concerns about the occurrence of a disaster similar to the Chernobyl disaster.
