According to the economic correspondent, “Vajihollah Jafari” today (Tuesday) at the third National Iranian Steel Festival and Exhibition at the Olympic Hotel in Tehran added: To date, more than $ 5.2 billion in crude steel and steel products have been sent to export markets.

The Chairman of Imidro’s Executive Board stated: Currently, more than 30 million tons of steel ingots, in addition to 22 million tons of steel products and 100 million tons of iron ore are produced annually in the country.

Referring to the third national steel festival and exhibition of Iran, he stated: “Localization, technology development and increasing supply capacity are among the main needs of the steel industry and should be addressed more seriously.”

Jafari emphasized: “Today, we need to meet the daily needs of the steel chain and provide the ground for its efficiency by reducing the cost and more quality products to provide all the parts and equipment we need without dependence, and this chain can Be fruitful in this regard.

“We are still far from the desired situation in the steel chain,” he said.

Deputy Minister Samat emphasized: Special support should be given to the people who move and work in this direction and it needs their trust.

He added: “The output of this festival should be that we pursue our support programs in the direction of localization and construction inside more seriously and strengthen it day by day.”

Localization of more than one billion dollars in the steel chain

Jafari pointed out: Imidro defined this important issue in its structure about three years ago, and today more than one billion dollars of parts and equipment of the steel chain have been localized.

Referring to the 40 million ton capacity built in steel production, he noted: ‌There are shortcomings and backlogs in providing the required infrastructure.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Imidro added: “Now, in the matter of electricity, it has been determined that up to 10,000 MW of electricity will be provided by large companies with the cooperation of the Ministry of Energy.” Is.

He added: “All these measures will help us to see more stability in the steel chain so as not to lead to the closure and non-profit of the units.”

In this ceremony, “Bahram Sobhani”, the president of the Iranian Steel Association, said about this year’s exhibition and festival: “Despite the localization of many equipments in previous years, but there was no comprehensive and integrated information in this field.”

He continued: “In the framework of this festival, both suppliers and applicants are aware of each other’s capabilities and needs, so that in the first period of the exhibition, more than 30 memorandums were signed between steelmakers and suppliers.”

The union official said that one of the most important needs of the steel industry that should be localized is the electrodes of electric arc furnaces, as well as “needle coke”, which, of course, companies have entered in this field.

Appreciation of five developmental figures of the iron and steel chain with the presentation of a plaque of appreciation and a statue, as well as appreciation of the top 20 companies, were on the agenda at the festival.

According to IRNA, the third national festival and exhibition of Iranian steel will be held in the presence of high-ranking national officials and producers and suppliers of the country’s iron and steel chain with a localization and technology development approach from today to February 12 at the Olympic Hotel in Tehran.
