According to Mehr News Agency, AFP announced in a Twitter message on Monday, quoting a spokesman for the European Union, that the EU will not hold talks with Iran on Thursday in Brussels about the resumption of the UN Security Council talks.

“Iran’s nuclear talks will not be held in Brussels on Thursday,” said Nabila Massrali, EU spokeswoman.

On the other hand, Joseph Borrell, the EU foreign policy chief, refused to resume the nuclear talks (revival of the UN Security Council) in Vienna hours before the confirmation of the meeting of the EU and Iranian diplomats in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, on Thursday; But he expressed hope that the meeting would take place soon.

“The meeting has not been confirmed yet, but things are getting better, and I hope we will have preliminary meetings in Brussels in the coming days,” he said, attending a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg.

Borrell had previously told reporters in Washington that he was ready to meet with Iranian officials but could not say when the meeting might take place.

Meanwhile, EU envoy Enrique Mora, who is in charge of coordinating the Vienna nuclear talks, who was in Tehran, met with Iran’s political deputy foreign minister last Thursday.

It is worth mentioning that after the meeting of “Ali Bagheri”, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Enrique Mora, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the European Union in Tehran, announced on October 13 that the talks were scheduled to resume in Brussels in the next two weeks.
