Iran ranks first in the growth of steel production among 27 countries of the world/ free fall of European steel in the shadow of the war in Ukraine

According to the economic correspondent of Fars News Agency, the statistics of the World Steel Association on the production of this strategic metal in different countries of the world have been published.
According to these statistics, in 2022, the total amount of steel production in the world will reach one billion and 878 million tons and has decreased by 4.2% compared to last year’s production. One billion and 13 million tons of production is related to China, which includes 53% of the world’s total steel production.
According to these statistics, Iran’s steel production reached 30.6 million tons in 2022 and increased by 8% compared to last year. The production of 30.6 million tons of steel under the shadow of sustainable energy supply made Iran take the tenth place in the world’s steel production in 2022.
It should be noted that the growth of Iran’s steel production ranks first among the top 27 steel producing countries with a rate of 8%.
* Reduction of European steel production in the shade of harsh winter
The noteworthy point in the issue of steel production in 2022 is the impact of the Ukraine war and the Russian energy embargo on European countries. In this regard, the steel production of European countries such as Germany, Italy, France, Spain and England has decreased by 8.4%, 11.6%, 13.1%, 19.2% and 15.6% compared to last year.
Also, Ukrainian steel production reached 6.3 million tons in 2022 and decreased by 70.7%.
