According to the Mehr news agency, quoting the Trade Wind News website, Iran seized two Greek-owned tankers today, Friday.

According to the media, Iran’s action today in seizing the two mentioned tankers took place after Greece handed over the oil tanker carrying Tehran, which was seized near the country, to the United States.

Reportedly, the 274-meter-long Delta Poseidon super tanker, which was seized off the coast of Assaluyeh in the north of the Persian Gulf, was built in 2011 and is owned by the Greek Oil Company.

The media named the two Greek tankers Prudent Warrior and Delta Poseidon.

Iran’s move came shortly after the Greek embassy’s ambassador to Tehran was summoned to the Foreign Ministry and Athens was asked to refrain from piracy, which was ignored by the Greek side.

The Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced minutes before the seizure of two Greek tankers for committing violations in the Persian Gulf.
