Iran welcomes UN envoy’s initiative to suspend military operations in Yemen for two months

According to Fars, Hans Grundberg, the UN special envoy for Yemen, said on Friday evening that the two sides (Sanaa and the resigned government and the aggressor coalition) had agreed to suspend all air, land and naval operations inside Yemen and overseas operations.

He added that the two sides agreed on the arrival of fuel ships to the ports of Al-Hudaidah and commercial flights to and from Sanaa Airport to specific destinations in the region. With the agreement of both parties, it is possible to extend the two-month ceasefire.

“The ceasefire includes the cessation of military operations, the opening of Sanaa International Airport for some flights and the opening of the port of Al-Hudaidah,” said Mohammed Abdul Salam, head of the Yemeni National Salvation Government’s negotiating team. It is on ships carrying oil.
