Iran‌Concert Manager: Hall owners are responsible for the high cost of concert tickets up to 300%!

Fars News Agency – Music Group – Alireza Sepahvand: With the beginning of the new year, Nowruz concerts are being held one after another in Tehran, Kish Island and other provinces of our country, and it seems that Corona will not be able to close the concerts at that scale of force like the last two years.

Concert ticket prices, however, seem to be facing a significant leap, with rumors that the concert-related departments intend to raise ticket prices, arguing that concert prices are relative to inflation and rising prices, as opposed to a marked increase in costs. “Production” and “Venio” (light, sound, special effects and salon) have not increased logically and can not be continued at the current ticket price.

Before 1401, the price of concert tickets started from 80,000 Tomans and reached up to 450,000 Tomans. This is while two years ago, the price of concert tickets did not exceed 200,000 Tomans. In the meantime, however, pop concerts are naturally becoming more and more popular. Among the concerts held since the beginning of January 1400, the highest prices were recorded for Kish Island. Accordingly, the ticket price of Babak Jahanbakhsh concert from 300 to 450 thousand Tomans, Arash and Masih from 180 to 450 thousand Tomans and Behnam Bani from 150 thousand to 450 thousand Tomans were all sold out and their concerts were held.

Concert ticket prices for other singers such as Sina Shabankhani, Reza Bahram, Mehdi Ahmadvand, Roozbeh Nematollahi, Horoushband and Mohsen Ebrahimzadeh, who have generally performed in Tehran, have sold for 100 to 395 thousand tomans. The concerts of Ali Yassini and Reza Sadeghi were also offered at prices ranging from 190 to 380 thousand Tomans.

Now, apart from the nominal change of the New Year, if we want to consider in terms of time interval, the ticket price is going to almost double in just a few months, and the research of a Fars music reporter indicates that this increase is almost certain. The price will be fixed. In other words, based on this, it is predicted that the price of tickets for pop concerts with a price floor of 300 thousand Tomans and up to 600 to 700 thousand Tomans will increase or, to put it better, will jump.

The director of Iran Concert Ticket System, however, says in this regard: Although neither the price of the singer has increased nor any of the costs of holding a concert, but the hall owners are increasing the ticket price by up to 300%.

In this regard, we asked Mohammad Hossein Tutunchian, the director of the “Iran Concert” ticket sales system, to provide explanations on this issue. The description of this music activist is as follows:

Regarding the increase in the price of concert tickets, as I have said before, this time it is the hall owners who are forcing the concert-givers to increase the price of the concert tickets by increasing the prices of the hall much more than in the last two months. And the reason they point out is just the change of year. I do not know what is the secret in the prayer for the delivery of the year, according to which it will increase the price of concert tickets by 30 to 300%.

I do not know before the prayer of the year of delivery, that is, until the twenty-ninth of March, 1400, the price of the concert ticket has not changed, and unfortunately why, just because the year was delivered, this expensive and dramatic price change must take place, only that the year has changed. Should at least 30% be drawn on prices ?! I really do not understand this equation and I do not know the cause. Tell us if you understand the reason and discover the reason.

The problem is that neither the price of the singers has increased, nor the price of other items that are considered the cost of a concert, and there is nothing in its routine, but the cost of the halls has increased by 300%. All you have to do as a reporter is do some research on this and ask the same salon owners and ask how much the salon cost before Corona? How much was it two months ago? And how much is it now? And this easily shows the exact statistics of the increase in the price of the halls, and of course, if we just divide this increase in the price of the hall by the number of seats, you will only notice the increase in the costs of the hall owners in this comparison.

Mohammad Hatampour, a music producer and concertmaker, told Fars News Agency in a telephone interview: “If existing expenses such as halls and… do not increase, we will not have a price increase for Tehran’s concerts between Eid al-Fitr and Muharram.”

In the coming days, we will discuss the possible increase in the price of concert tickets, which account for the highest volume of music turnover, with other music producers and producers, and the results will be published in future issues.
