Iranian Ambassador to Syria: Tehran-Damascus strategic relationship neutralizes sanctions

According to Al-Ahd news website today (Saturday), Sobhani stressed that US policy in Syria has not changed yet, even if its tactics have changed.
Speaking to Al-Ahd about the Iranian oil tankers that entered Lebanon from Syria, he noted: “This confirms the ability of the resistance axis to fulfill its promises and the inability of other axes.”
Strong historical relationship
Sobhani added: “In the science of international relations and schools of thought, it is a common belief that what determines the direction of each country’s foreign policy is its identity in international relations and there is more convergence between countries in their identity and thus more desire to cooperate with each other.” will have.
Sobhani pointed out that the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran created a fundamental change in the identity before and after the revolution, and said that the revolution created new values, goals and norms for this new identity in the Islamic Republic of Iran. And this new identity depicted the national-international role of the Islamic Republic of Iran and became the basis of its behavior at the international level. And the oppressed were especially reflected in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These titles are the main axes of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which are mentioned in the Iranian constitution.
The Iranian ambassador to Damascus noted: “These developments in Iran took place at a time when the Middle East was witnessing a normalization movement with the Zionist regime, especially given the Camp David agreement that many countries that were once hostile to the Zionists, return to normal.” They turned to making instruments.
According to Sobhani, the only country that did not stop confronting the Zionist regime and remained on the front lines against it was Syria, led by the late President Hafez al-Assad, and thus the new identity of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the identity of the Arab Republic. Syria remained on it, identifying the common enemy and the common interests of the two countries, because the late President Hafez al-Assad and Imam Khomeini can be considered as the main founders of this strategic relationship between the two countries, which through common identity, paved the way. It paved the way for rapprochement between the two countries over the past forty years, and the two countries stood together in the days when they needed each other’s support.
The Iranian ambassador to Damascus mentioned the second point that helped strengthen these relations and their stability as the good intentions of the two countries and their mutual trust, adding that the two countries are witnessing continuous development of strategic relations in political, economic, trade and cultural fields. It is scientific and educational.
Cooperation in all fields
Mehdi Sobhani, Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, noted that Iran-Syria strategic relations include all areas, including military cooperation, which reflects support for Syria. We are united, in the sense that we have passed the initial stages and since the two countries are united. We are developing our relations according to the level of these relations.
Sobhani stressed that our cooperation with Syria has reached the highest level and the military cooperation agreement covers all areas and will be implemented and implemented if necessary.
Syria is stable and the goals have not changed
The Iranian ambassador in Damascus said that Syria has passed the main stage of the field war against the country without changing its strategy. The strategy of the enemy was to defeat the Syrian government, to overthrow it and to divide the country. There were a number of other large Islamic countries that thought they could create small dependent security governments that could not pose any threat to them or the Zionist regime. This strategy of the enemy has not changed yet, but it has changed its tactics to implement it.
According to Sobhani, the first strategy that these enemies announced was regime change in Syria. Today, they talk about changing “behavior”, but they are lying, because their strategy is the same as before. Thus, the battle is not over yet, but its tactics have changed, because they have entered the economic and social arena from the military field to do injustice and increase the suffering of the Syrian people, with the aim of forcing the Syrian government to fall short. Slow down their positions and provide a suitable ground for achieving their goals against Syria.
Sobhani clarified in this regard: The tools used by the enemy today are sanctions, economic pressure, international political pressures, raising issues such as human rights, etc., resorting to fake war, spreading rumors and psychological warfare in order to change public opinion. To lead the Syrian government to abandon its positions and goals.
Definite victory
Sobhani reminded: The Islamic Republic of Iran was under maximum pressure and economic sanctions during the fight against terrorism, which is referred to as the policy of maximum pressure of the US government under former President Donald Trump, but today the Americans, thanks to the divine victory that all The Iranian people, and the Axis of Resistance in general, believe in it, acknowledging that maximum pressure has failed and looking for alternative ways to engage with Iran.
In an interview with Al-Ahd, Sobhani stressed about the future of the economic war: “We will defeat the enemy one hundred percent and we are ready to provide all the necessary expertise for our Syrian brothers to face these sanctions.”
He stressed that the goal for which we came to Syria has not changed at all, and I think that it is more difficult to maintain the achievements than to achieve them. We are in full cooperation and coordination with the Syrian government, and we will do everything we can to counter this economic war, and we are absolutely confident of our victory.
Tankers and turning the crisis into an opportunity
Regarding the arrival of Iranian oil tankers in Lebanon through Syria and Iran’s trust in this issue, Sobhani said: “This is an example of the word of God Almighty in the Holy Quran that if you help God, he will help you and strengthen your steps.” Sending Iranian oil through Lebanon to Syria is also a new opportunity that was provided by the pressure of the enemy and was done by the efforts of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Sobhani stressed that the enemy was hit by a side he did not think about, and that malicious elements plotting against Lebanon confessed in their circles that they did not think Hezbollah could do such a thing, but it was done because we wanted to do it. Let’s complete it, and if we want something, we will do it, and this step disrupted the enemy’s calculations and led him to circumvent the sanctions that he had imposed.
Sobhani stated that the importance of this action goes far beyond solving the problem of fuel shortage in Lebanon and is raised in the context of geopolitical issues that led to a change in the confrontation arena, and given what happened at the geopolitical scale, They were transported to the sea, and the arrival of these tankers in Lebanon showed that if the axis of resistance makes a decision, no one can reverse that decision, and this proves that sanctions in many cases may provide an opportunity.
