Referring to the approval of the new statute of the International Caspian Horse Association, he said: In the new statute, for the first time, Iran is officially mentioned as the origin of this breed and also the Caspian Horse Protection Association of our country as the main member of the International Association. “Members of the International Caspian Horse Association include Iran, Britain, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden,” he said. This race, Iran won three votes in the Assembly of the Council of the International Association.
Dehghan said: in order to use the opinions of all experts and sympathizers in our country, a committee consisting of popular volunteers and representatives of the Animal Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture and the Center for Breeding and Improving Livestock Production in the Caspian Horse Protection Association was formed and summarized. As Iran’s opinion, it was sent to the International Committee for the Amendment of the Statute, and finally, after three months of intensive work and international consultation, the new Statute and its annexes were approved.
He added: “Supporting and protecting the Caspian horse as a national asset and helping its survival, as well as promoting and developing the use of the applications of this valuable Iranian breed, is the most important goal of the Caspian Horse Support Association.”
He pointed out that a Caspian horse evaluation committee has also been set up: “This committee examines horses in terms of type and DNA testing.”
The CEO of the Caspian Horse Protection Association of Iran said: “Currently, 50 owners and breeders of Caspian horses have become members of this association, and so far 120 horses have been identified and identified, which are in the final stage of sending samples for genetic registration.”
Caspian horse is registered only in the name of Iran
Dehghan added: “During the last three years, the Caspian horse has been registered in the name of Iran in the new laws that have been changed.”
The CEO of the Caspian Horse Protection Association continued: “Most of the Caspian horses are used for sports and recreation. Unfortunately, the responsible organizations and sports federations have done little in sports use because their imports always exceed their exports.”
He added: “This is while the Caspian horse is known as the best pony in the world.”
Dehghan said: “Fortunately, in recent years, with the increase in the economic value of the Caspian horse, each head of this type of horse is bought and sold between 10 and 30 million.”
He stressed that in our country, sports federations that have horse-related disciplines should define special fields for Caspian horses.
He added: “The relevant federation has set up a pony committee, while the Caspian horse is a horse that is different from a pony. In Europe, it is common to be defined in the country.
At the end of the press conference, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Animal Science Research Institute and the Caspian Horse Conservation Association.
