Iranian mobile phones will use the Android operating system for now
The Minister of Communications announced that for the time being, the operating system of native Iranian phones will be Android, but they have a detailed discussion and plan about it.
Isai Zarepour, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, in a conversation with Tasnim, once again mentioned the goal of producing one million budget phones under $100 in Iran and said:
“This is a joint work between the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Privacy, and we formulated a plan in this regard; This year, some new players will enter the field of mobile phone production. The production of mobile phones inside will have another effect and Other actors enter this arena They will be; Also, the activists who were before are supported with the help of the Ministry of Security to strengthen their production lines. Also, in the special economic zone of Payam, there are necessary facilities such as land, shed, loan And we have provided the equipment to them production lines to launch
In response to the question whether these mobile phones have the Android operating system or the new Iranian operating system, he stated that for the time being these phones will be equipped with the Android operating system: “But in this regard, we have an obligation from the Supreme Council of Cyberspace to follow the work.” do.”
This is while the Ministry of Communications has published a call since December of last year and invited domestic manufacturers of mobile operating systems. Also, in the twelfth government and the previous period of the Ministry of Communications, the production of the native version of the mobile phone operating system was pursued.
Of course, the use of the operating system approved by the Ministry of Communications in other devices other than mobile phones has become mandatory. In this regard, the Minister of Communications referred to last year’s resolution of the Council of Ministers and said:
“According to the government’s decree last year, the Ministry of Privacy is obliged to install the operating system approved by the Ministry of Communications on equipment with operating systems other than mobile phones, such as household appliances, etc. We make sure that the operating system is installed safely and with approval on devices other than mobile phones; There is a separate detailed discussion about the operating system of the phone, and we have a plan in this regard.
