Iran’s mineral diversity has increased to 81

The head of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organization said: “In the past, it was said that there are about 68 minerals in Iran, but now this number has increased to 81.”
According to IRNA, Alireza Shahidi on Sunday at the inauguration ceremony of the Transformation Project in the field of geology and exploration of mineral resources of South Khorasan added: “There are a large number of minerals in our country and we have a large expansion throughout the country.”
He said: “If we pay attention to the map of old mines, we will find that in 22 regions of the country, our ancestors were doing mining work, which shows that mining in this country had its own origin and a special look was given to it.”
Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, stating that attention to mines has been more superficial, added: “According to available statistics, the country’s geological reserves are about 60 billion tons, but in fact there are about 37 to 40 billion tons of reserves in the country.”
He said: “About 62% of this amount belongs to construction materials such as sand, carcasses, sand and various rocks, about 10 to 15% to metal reserves and the rest to non-metals, which we do not have accurate statistics due to the special geological situation of the country.” .
Shahidi said: “Gold reserves in the country are increasing day by day and recently mines have been identified, including in South Khorasan, which we hope to increase with the work we have started in the next five years and reach 100 billion tons.”
He added: “If we examine the amount of exploration with investment, it is clear that until 2015, the amount of investment with exploration was in one line, and after this, a great distance has occurred and shows that the costs of exploration are increasing.”
The head of the Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization said: “In the 1980s, about 945,000 kilometers of the country were explored, and with the potential assessment done in the country, we realized that 2,700,000 kilometers of linear exploration operations should be carried out, of which 640,000 kilometers have been done so far.” Is a long way from our goal.
He added: “According to the tripartite memorandum exchanged between this organization, Imidro and the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, we are going to accelerate the production and completion of basic information in aerial geophysics, in which licenses have been received.”
Shahidi said: “The country’s mines are mostly shallow or close to the surface, but the hidden mineral reserves in the depths of the earth should be increased, and if we increase the deep exploration in the country, we can achieve important minerals.”
He said: “In terms of process, the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organization has three main tasks of producing basic information, monitoring and processing, and finally maintaining and publishing, documenting and standardizing data. And is published as a map.
He added: “Information layers in the fields of geology, geochemistry, aerial and ground geophysics are exploration and this organization has produced 1,650 information layers so far, of which more than 800 information layers are location-based and have coordinates that can be observed at any time.” .
The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade also said: “We are in a country that has a special diversity of geological structure, and accordingly, we have a place in the world in two areas of natural hazards and mineral diversity.”
He said: “Of the 43 hazards in the world, 34 hazards occur in Iran, which the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration identifies and monitors, but in the field of geological hazards, the procedure that does not happen in the country is prevention and unfortunately we are waiting for something to happen next.” Compensate for damages.
The Director of Exploration of the Organization for Development and Renovation of Mines and Mineral Industries of Iran (Imidro) also said: The colleagues of the Ministry of Silence, in cooperation with the Planning and Budget Organization, develop five-year plans Enter the cycle so we need more exploration.
Ali Asgharzadeh added: “In the past few years, we have been able to work 650,000 square kilometers in the form of 107 mineral zones with colleagues from the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, which will result in adding at least five major mineral potentials to eight major mines in the country.”
“In recent years, $ 100 million has been spent in this area, and our estimate of the added value of these mines is $ 12.5 billion, which has grown tremendously,” he said.
The director of exploration of the Organization for Development and Renovation of Mines and Mining Industries of Iran stated: South Khorasan is one of our first priority provinces where five mining zones with an area of 55,000 square kilometers were worked and we expect to have good mines in the province.
He added: “Mineral exploration in recent years has shown us that we are short of human resources and manpower, and we have planned to address these challenges.”
Asgharzadeh said: “One of the measures taken was the signing of a tripartite memorandum between Imidro Organization, Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade and Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization, in which several goals, including identifying new areas and mines in the province, creating added value and The development of employment and income of the people is pursued.
He considered the training of the province’s human resources as another goal of this memorandum and said: “We expect to increase the specialized level of the province’s forces in this project, which is being implemented for the first time in the country.”
The executive operation of the Geological Transformation and Exploration of Mineral Resources project based on the tripartite agreement of the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization and Imidro started on Sunday with the presence of the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade in South Khorasan.
The inauguration ceremony of this project, in which the production and completion of basic geological and exploratory information in the desired area of the operation is one of the main objectives, today in the presence of the head of the Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization, Director General of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, Governor South Khorasan and a group of officials were held in Shahid Rajaei Governor’s Hall.
According to the agreement, Imidro will be responsible for financing the project and providing basic information, completing the aerial geophysical cycle, identifying and tracking the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration, as well as the necessary support for planning and carrying out legal procedures before the work is carried out. And Mining Industries is the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade.
One of the results of this project, considering the collection of aerial geophysical data in the desired area, is the completion of the identification phase and exploratory research to introduce promising new mineral areas that will bring a significant change in the mining sector of the province.
The transformation plan in the field of geology and exploration of mineral resources of South Khorasan province, including about four cities and more than 85 villages, will be implemented and the duration of the plan is estimated to be one year from October 1400.
Also in this meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and the Head of the Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization, the Governor of South Khorasan, the Director General of the Exploration Office of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, the Director of Exploration of the Mining Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) The Director General of the Planning, Technology and Budget Office of the Geological Survey of Iran was accompanied by a bilateral memorandum of understanding between the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration and Birjand University of Technology.
