According to Mehr’s reporter, Iran’s national volleyball team, which had lost its first match in the Olympic qualifiers, faced the Ukrainian national team this Monday morning and lost against this European team as well.
The 2024 Paris Olympics selection volleyball competitions in the men’s group will be held from October 8 to 16, 1402, hosted by three countries, Brazil, China and Japan.
In the first group of this tournament, the Iranian national volleyball team is in the same group with the teams of Brazil (host), Italy, Cuba, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Germany and Qatar, and in their second match in this competition, they will face each other from 3 am today (Monday, October 10). Ukraine went and lost 3-0.
Behrouz Atai’s students lost 25-19, 25-22 and 25-17 in this match to experience their second defeat in this tournament.
The Iranian national volleyball team with the composition of Mohammad Taher Wadi, Shahrouz Homayunfarmanesh, Mohammad Valizadeh, Amin Ismailnejad, Amir Hossein Esfandiar, Seyed Mohammad Mousavi and Mohammad Reza Hazratpour (libero) played against Ukraine.
At the beginning of the first set of this match, Ukraine scored four points in a row, and in the middle of the set, the difference between the two teams reached 6 points. At the end of this set, Mobin Nasri and Maitham Salehi also came to the court, but in the end, the first set ended 25-19 in favor of Ukraine. In this set, Ukraine scored 16 points from attack and Iran scored 12 points from attack. In defense, both teams scored three points, but the Ukrainians scored three service points, while Iran scored only one point.
Mobeen Nasri and Saber Kazemi came to the field for Iran from the beginning of the second set and the first point went to the Iranian team, but in the middle of the game, the Ukrainians imposed their advantage on the Iranian team and they were five points ahead of Iran at 10 points. In the continuation of this set, Javad Karimi, Maysam Salehi and Arman Salehi also came to the ground. The national team of our country reduced their points difference with Ukraine, but in the end they lost 25-22 so that this team got one point from Iran.
The third set of this match ended 25-17 in favor of Ukraine, despite the efforts of our country’s national team, so that the yellow-clad team got three match points.
Marcias Luis Gerardo from Mexico as the first referee and Fernandez Fuentes David from Spain as the second referee were in charge of judging this match.
The match between Iran and Ukraine was held for the first time in history, and this team was introduced as the 60th opponent of Iranian men’s volleyball in the world.
In the other three matches of the second day of the first Olympic qualifying group, the teams of Brazil, Germany and Italy won against their opponents.
Iran’s national volleyball team will face Qatar in its third match on Tuesday, October 11 at 16:30. Our country’s national team lost 3-1 to Germany in the first game.
