According to Mehr News Agency, the new British Foreign Secretary, Liz Terrace, announced on her Twitter account that the Iranian nuclear talks were being discussed at a meeting of the permanent members of the Security Council.
The British Foreign Secretary announced in this regard: At the meeting of the Foreign Ministers, the permanent members of the Security Council, the Iran nuclear talks, the coordinated response in Afghanistan and the Covid-19 epidemic were on the agenda.
In another tweet, the British Foreign Secretary referred to his recent meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and said in this regard: we did. We also discussed security and stability in Afghanistan.
A day earlier, new British Foreign Secretary Liz Terrace had met with the Iranian Foreign Minister on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York and mentioned the meeting on her Twitter account.
The British Foreign Secretary described the meeting with Iranian officials as important and said he was working to bring Tehran back to the Borjam revival talks.
Liz Terrace said on her Twitter account that during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian, two issues were discussed, including the release of British citizens detained and Tehran’s return to the negotiating table on the nuclear deal.
