Iran’s representative: There is no safeguard issue regarding Iran’s current nuclear activities

He added: “The fact is that there is no safeguard issue regarding Iran’s current nuclear activities, which has always been confirmed in various reports.” Iran has also voluntarily continued its various practical and constructive interactions with the IAEA and has worked closely with the IAEA to address issues related to a number of minor issues.

The Iranian diplomat said: “Unfortunately, the positive and constructive approach shown by Iran has not been properly responded to by the IAEA, which could be an obstacle to future interactions between the two sides.”
Ghaebi noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s engagement with the IAEA under the obligations set out in the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement (CSA) has never diminished. Iran reaffirms its determination to continue constructive engagement and cooperation with the Agency fully in line with its commitments under the CSA.
“To do this, it is in the best interests of both parties to respect the three recognized principles of independence, impartiality and professionalism, and to refrain from engaging in any political disputes,” he said.
“At this point, we all need to take into account the current content of the statements, the long-term interests of the agency, including avoiding any interference with political considerations,” Ghaibi said.
He also said: “During the recent visit of the Director General to Tehran, which took place on November 22 and 23, 2021, high-level political meetings and technical talks were held between Iran and the IAEA.”
The Iranian representative added: “In these meetings, the parties reminded and emphasized the spirit of cooperation and its continuation and the need to address all issues related to safeguards in a constructive atmosphere to achieve the result agreed by both parties through meetings of technical experts whose date will be determined later.” Emphasized.
He added: “As our Foreign Minister recently stated, the two sides are determined to continue cooperation and reach an agreement, and politicizing technical issues is in fact fruitless.”
According to Fars, the meeting of the Board of Governors is being held in Vienna for three days from Wednesday.
