Iran’s representative warned against the wrong practice of the United States and 3 European countries

According to the foreign policy group of Fars news agency, “Mohsen Naziri Asal”, the ambassador and permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to international organizations in Vienna and the IAEA, in his speech at the meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency on the issue of the implementation of the JCPOA in the Islamic Republic of Iran, while explaining the reasons And the factors causing the current situation of the JCPOA demanded compensation for the current situation from the US and the three European countries that are parties to the JCPOA and warned about the continuation of the wrong procedure followed by them.

He said: The continued existence of root causes caused by the illegal, unjustified and illegal withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA, along with the reimposition of sanctions that it was committed to canceling, as well as the arbitrary imposition of new sanctions contrary to its commitments within the framework of the JCPOA, are self-evident facts. .

Naziri Assal stated that the extraterritorial application of unilateral sanctions is a violation of international law, not to mention the violation of the United States’ obligations based on Security Council Resolution 2231, and noted that: strangely, we are facing a situation where the same countries whose actions or omissions cause In this situation, they are concerned about the results of their actions. They should have either thought of these effects when they decided to break their commitments, or decided to correct what caused the situation in the first place.
Iran’s representative in the IAEA stated: The details of the Director General’s reports are a strong manifestation of the unprecedented level of transparency in Iran’s nuclear program and activities based on the comprehensive safeguards agreement with the IAEA.
He continued: Despite the desperate action of the United States, the Islamic Republic of Iran entered the negotiations with good faith with the aim of revitalizing the JCPOA. The JCPOA negotiations provided a unique opportunity for the parties to the JCPOA and the United States to demonstrate their clear intention to return to full implementation of their obligations by lifting the inhumane and illegal sanctions in an effective and verifiable manner.

According to Naziri, it is regrettable that the US government is still ready to abandon its failed policy of maximum pressure and its long-term addiction to unilateral coercive measures, respect for international laws and, as a result, the full, effective and verifiable implementation of its commitments. In relation to the cancellation of sanctions and the adoption of all the necessary decisions that may be required, it has not shown.
According to Fars, this senior Iranian diplomat said: Unfortunately, the agency has not yet fulfilled its obligations under the Comprehensive Safeguard Agreement regarding the confidentiality of information as a result of its verification activities. The disclosure of such a volume of technical details and information of Iran’s nuclear facilities and activities is in clear contradiction with the principle of confidentiality between the Agency and the member states, which unfortunately the Agency has not taken seriously.
He noted that the United States must address concerns about its past misconduct, not the least of which is to be able to trust the administration’s future implementation of its commitments. It is important that the result of these efforts guarantees the meaningful, effective and verifiable implementation of the obligations of other JCPOA participants.
Naziri Asal continued: The three European countries that are parties to the JCPOA and the European Union are responsible for their direct and indirect support to the United States and their biased position towards the maximalist approach of the United States. It is unfortunate that the EU deliberately chose the wrong path to divert attention from the real problem, which is the withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA.

According to Fars, in the meeting yesterday evening (Wednesday), the International Atomic Energy Agency of 56 countries, 23 of which were members of the Agency’s Board of Governors, issued a statement against Iran and accused Tehran of not cooperating with the United Nations nuclear watchdog. This statement was proposed by the United States and three European countries and accuses Iran of not cooperating on safeguards issues with the International Atomic Energy Agency. The statement was read by the representative of Germany.
