Iraqi Shiite parties: The attack on Baghdad airport was a terrorist act

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, the Iraqi Shiite Coordinating Committee, known as Al-Attar Al-Tansiqi, condemned the rocket attack on Baghdad Airport this morning (Friday) as a criminal terrorist act.

According to the Al-Sumaria News website, the statement said: “This attack was carried out with the aim of inciting sedition and creating an excuse and a trap for plotting against the children of the homeland. “Therefore, the coordination framework calls on all groups to show solidarity and to work together to avoid an approach of exclusion and bullying, and to deprive the enemies of the opportunity to disrupt security and achieve the sovereignty of the homeland.”

In this regard, Abu Ali al-Askari, the head of security for Hezbollah’s Iraqi battalions, said in a statement that the attack on Baghdad airport was the work of corrupt people and those who committed fraud in the Iraqi elections, in order to complicate the situation. He called on the commanders of the security agencies and the Al-Hashd al-Shabi security unit to identify the “mercenaries” who carried out the attack and those who were hiding behind them.

Abu Ali al-Askari called the attack on security forces in the western provinces of Iraq the work of some high-ranking officials in the current Iraqi government and called for their disclosure and trial.

In this regard, the Iraqi Al-Alam Al-Amni news agency (affiliated with the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office) also issued a statement explaining the rocket attack on Baghdad airport this morning. The statement said that Iraqi security forces had obtained important clues regarding the attack, which emphasized that the attack was terrorist. The attack, the statement said, was aimed at undermining the government’s efforts to regain control of Iraq.

Al-Alam al-Amni added, “Illegal terrorist groups were trying to target the country’s facilities this morning with six Katyusha rockets. “The rockets landed in the parking lot of Iraqi Airlines planes, damaging two planes.”

The statement also claimed that the attack was aimed at undermining the government’s efforts to regain the role of the Iraqi regions and undermining the airline’s efforts to develop airlines in the region and increase its challenges.

In response to today’s rocket attack, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi called on political groups and parties to state their position in condemning the rocket attack on Baghdad. He called the attack an attempt to tarnish Iraq’s image, calling it a “terrorist” attempt to undermine Iraq’s security, facilities, commitments and interests.

According to al-Kadhimi, the rocket attack on the airport, which is considered a symbol of Iraq, raises doubts about the country’s air and internal security and thwarts efforts by the Iraqi Aviation Authority to persuade airlines to fly over the country.

The leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom movement, Sayyid Ammar Hakim, also condemned the attack on his Twitter page, calling for an immediate investigation into the attack, which called for an immediate investigation into the attacks, which targeted the country’s infrastructure and civic centers. To identify the perpetrators of these attacks, which have caused instability in Iraq, as soon as possible.

At the end of his tweet, he called on the Iraqi security services to step up their intelligence measures to prevent such incidents, which target the lives of the citizens and the vital centers of the country.
