Iron and rebar became cheaper / Does the power outage make iron more expensive?

According to Tejarat News, the increase in housing prices has caused an increase in the recession in the construction industry. With these prices, real consumers do not seem to have the money to buy a house.
Due to the recession in the housing market, the price of construction materials has also decreased due to the backwardness of builders. According to iron sellers, the halt in construction has slightly reduced the price of iron and rebar, and there is currently no demand for iron and rebar.
A member of the board of directors of the Iron Traders’ Union told Tejaratnews: “Due to the resumption of nuclear talks, the prices of iron and rebar are decreasing.” Of course, it was announced yesterday that the electricity supply to the steels was cut off, but it seems that this power outage is short-lived and has no effect on increasing the price of steel and rebar.
Mohammad Sadegh Chitsaz explained: Today, the rebar was sold at a price of 14,750 Tomans, and each kilo of iron beam was sold at a price of 15,100 Tomans. Rebar in December compared to the previous month was 1,200 Tomans and the price of iron during this period was 1,250 Tomans cheaper.
Mass builders do not buy iron either
“The iron market is stagnant,” Chitsaz said, referring to market demand. Not only small-volume consumers but also mass-producers do not have the demand to buy iron and rebar in the market.
“The iron and rebar market is no longer attractive for prices,” Chitsaz said. Rebar and iron are not expected to rise in price by the end of the year.
Rising prices of construction materials and fluctuations in the price of the dollar have caused construction to stop in Tehran. Earlier, Ramin Goran Orimi, secretary of the Tehran Mass Builders Association, said: “People do not have the money to buy a house in Tehran.” Hence, the construction of mass builders has also stopped.
