Is the screening of “Spider” forbidden in Qom?



It has been more than 10 days since the screening of the movie “Spider” started in cinemas all over the country, but in Qom province, the screening of this movie has not been issued yet.

Theater News Base: In recent days, many citizens of Qom have criticized the non-release of the movie “Spider” in the cinemas of their city and complained in various places such as ticket sales sites or the media that when they can have entertainment like the cinema, why should they be forced to watch a movie? Travel to Tehran, and now the question is whether it is difficult to screen “Spider” in Qom?

In this regard, the director of “Tarbiat Qom” cinema, in response to why the movie “Spider” is not shown in Qom cinemas, told ISNA: ‌ According to the routine, the screening of any movie in the provinces must be with the permission of the guidance office of that province. We currently have the film, but it has not been licensed for release. Of course, we have not been told that they will not give permission, but we have not been allowed to screen it yet, and we are waiting to be able to screen the film for fans like in other cities.

Mohammadi, referring to the fact that “Qom cinemas are closed today and tomorrow due to martyrdom, and it will be possible to show films from Monday,” said about the popularity of Qom cinemas: “If a good film is screened, people will welcome it.” The capacity of our cinema is about 340 people, which with the current fifty percent conditions, we see almost a good number of audiences.

“Spider” is a 2009 production directed by Ebrahim Irajzad, written by Ekta Braheni and produced by Javad Nowruzbeigi, starring Mohsen Tanabandeh in the lead role of one of the serial killers of the 1970s who killed several street women in Mashhad.
