Issuing the law of Syria’s accession to the agreement to establish the international solar energy alliance


According to the report of the International Economic Group of Fars News Agency, quoted by SanaSyrian President Bashar Assad issued Order No. (30) of 2022 regarding Syria’s accession to the framework agreement for the establishment of the International Solar Energy Alliance.

Nidal Qaramousheh, the deputy of energy affairs of the Ministry of Electricity of Syria, said that the law of accession to the framework agreement for the establishment of the international solar energy alliance helps to develop the skills and capabilities of Syrian electricity institutions and increases the reliance on renewable energy, building the capacity of workers, and increasing educational opportunities. There are laws regulating the optimal use of renewable energy.

This law was approved by the Syrian Parliament on June 20, 2022.

The International Solar Energy Alliance was formed in 2015 within the framework of the Paris Climate Summit and at the initiative of France and India. This alliance consists of 121 countries, most of which are located in tropical regions and enjoy a lot of sunlight. The goal of this alliance is to ensure the transfer of technology and facilitate the financing of solar energy development in all countries by investing one trillion dollars in solar facilities and infrastructure by 2030.
