According to Mehr reporter, the Indian movie “Donkey” starring Shah Rukh Khan is being screened in different countries these days, a sequence of which has been reflected in the virtual space and has caused the reaction of Iranians. The image in the film is associated with a kind of Iranophobia and shows a negative atmosphere of Iran.
“Donkey” tells the story of a few people for illegal immigration from India to Europe.
In response to the showing of this fake image from Iran, Mohammad Hossampour, deputy director of monitoring and supervision of Satra, told Mehr reporter: The release of the film “Donkey” produced by India is not approved by Satra due to its Iran-phobic approach.
He added: “Donkey” movie distorts the reality and presents an inappropriate portrayal of the defenders of life on the Iranian borders and the selfless Iranian border guards. This film was produced under the influence of lobbies and anti-Iranian atmosphere of the western media and to promote Iranophobic views.
Hossampour clarified: In order to protect the national interests, Satra has announced the non-release of the said film to the mainstream audio and video media.
Satra’s vice president of monitoring and supervision further emphasized: Satra, as the regulatory authority of the universal audio and video media, while interacting with the media, considers safeguarding the public interests of the society as one of its inherent regulatory duties, and for this reason, the release of the film It does not approve of programs that threaten national interests and humiliate Iranian identity and culture.
With a request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he said: It is expected that the diplomatic system of the country will officially protest against this anti-Iranian approach of the film in view of the wide release of this film in cinemas of different countries around the world.
