Using subsidized electricity or gas to extract cryptocurrency is essentially no different from fuel smuggling, and its negative consequences have wider dimensions; Because the violators, by putting pressure on the electricity and gas network during the hot and cold days of the year, increase the probability of blackouts, especially in the economically productive sectors, and in this way, they have irreparable negative effects on the production, employment and inflation rate in the country.
The CEO of the country’s electricity network management company added:
According to the new laws that have been notified to the relevant authorities, in case of discovery of cases of misuse of subsidized electricity or gas for the purpose of extracting cryptocurrency, with the violators in case of discovery of violations at the place of government institutions, institutions and public non-governmental organizations (the subject of Article “5” Civil Service Management Law), the offending person or persons will be referred to judicial authorities for dismissal from service.
The spokesperson of the electricity industry, pointing out that the fine has quadrupled compared to the previous conditions, stated:
According to the new rules, the cost of consumed electricity is four times the rate of exported electricity (100 times the cost of subsidized electricity) from the violators.
Rajabi Mashhadi continued:
According to this decree, in the first instance, the violator’s electricity or gas or liquid fuel quota will be cut off for three months, and in case of repeating the violation, the electricity or gas or liquid fuel quota will be cut off for one year.
The spokesperson of the electricity industry said in the end:
According to the new approvals, from now on all discovered unauthorized miners will be destroyed.
Nothing found.
