It was required to provide the national code to buy a mobile phone; There is no quota

The spokesperson of the Mobile Importers Association announced in a conversation with Digiato that in line with the implementation of the Horizon plan, people must provide their national code when buying a mobile phone. According to him, there is no limit on the purchase of mobile phones.

During the past week, there have been rumors about mobile phone quotas and the sale of one phone per national code. But Digiato’s follow-ups indicate that only the discussion of providing the national code of the mobile phone buyer is required and there is no talk of restrictions, at least so far.

“Mohammedreza Alian”, the spokesperson of the Mobile Importers Association, pointed to the decisions made in the last meeting of the Mobile Phone Registry Committee and told Digiato:

“Nothing strange has happened, and in fact, this whole flow comes back to the horizon plan process. According to this plan, the entire chain of mobile sales must be registered in the Eghor system. In the last layer of this chain, in order to be able to register the mobile phone sold to the consumer, the retailer had to receive the SMS code sent to the buyer after the activation of the phone.

According to him, this process was sometimes faced with problems, for example, people who wanted to give mobile phones as gifts, did not activate the phone, and naturally, the code was not provided to the seller, which caused the uncertainty of registering these mobile phones in the Afogh system. “Therefore, a new mechanism has been considered and the national code of the buyer and the IMEI of the sold mobile phone must be registered in the Horizon system, which makes the mentioned process easier for the sellers.”

Alian emphasized that with the implementation of this plan, there will be no restrictions on the purchase of phones by consumers; However, the Mobile Importers Association did not answer other questions, such as how it will be for some nationals to buy a phone, and whether people under the age of 18 can participate in this plan, etc. He postponed: “The text of the meeting minutes will probably be presented to the importers’ association by tomorrow (Monday) and after that we can provide more complete information about the details of this issue.”

It should be noted that the recent changes to complete the horizon plan are the decisions that were approved in the recent meeting of the registry committee, but its implementation requires the notification of the meeting minutes by the government, for which the exact time has not yet been announced.
