James Cameron’s reaction to Matt Damon’s 250 million dollar loss/don’t care!

While Matt Damon has been regretting turning down a role in Avatar for some time now, James Cameron’s response is to move on.

Charso Press: James Cameron had to laugh when Matt Damon recalled losing $250 million by turning down an offer to star in Avatar.

Damon recently revealed at the Cannes Film Festival that not only did Cameron offer him a role in the epic film “Avatar” in 2009, but he also offered him 10% of the profits from its sales. “Avatar” grossed more than $2 billion worldwide and became the highest-grossing film of all time, and Damon’s share could have been $250 million from the film.

Damon told the press that I will go down in history. You will never find an actor who turned down more than that.

James Cameron, in a new interview with the BBC on the occasion of the release of “Avatar: The Way of Water”, immediately laughed when asked about this.

His answer was: He is blaming himself for this issue. My opinion is that you know; Matt, you are one of the greatest actors in the world, never mind!

He added: He had to act in the third film of the “Bourne” series, which was in his contract. Nothing else could be done. Therefore, he unfortunately had to reject this offer.

When the idea was floated that Damon could have a cameo in the next “Avatar” installment, Cameron replied, “Yes, he would.” But he no longer had 10%.

At the Cannes Film Festival, when Matt Damon participated in a master class, he revealed that he lost $250 million by turning down the offer to play in the movie “Avatar”. He was going to star in the action trilogy “Bourne” directed by Paul Greengrass.

Damon said that while it wasn’t the right financial decision, it was the right moral decision.

In the end, the role he turned down went to Sam Worthington, although he was not offered a 10% share of the profits.
