Judicial order to stop the clearance of 428 containers of imported Bosch home appliances

According to the economic correspondent of Fars News Agency, for the fourth time, a court order was issued to import Bosch home appliances.

In a letter to the Director General of Customs, Branch 13 of the Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office issued an order suspending the clearance of 428 containers of Bosch home appliances until further notice.

A well-informed official told Fars: “Previously, a meeting was held with the presence of representatives of customs, the Ministry of Silence, the Central Bank and security agencies, but in the end no decision was made to clear this large shipment of home appliances.”

He continued: “According to the decree of 1997, the import of home appliances was banned and it is not possible to clear these appliances.” Many goods have been deposited at customs under similar conditions, and if a clearance order is to be issued, all goods, including household appliances and other items, must be allowed to be imported.

According to Fars, three times before, the judiciary had ordered the clearance of Bush’s home appliances, but each time it was stopped due to ambiguities and suspicions by the technical deputy of customs.

According to customs officials, the value of 428 containers of Bosch home appliances has been declared to customs in 19 items. This shipment was registered in November 2017, but in 1397, 1398 and even until November this year, these goods were imported and delivered to the ports of special economic zones. Bush declared the value of the home appliances in the ports to be around € 13.4 million, saying that the value of the goods would be higher, given customs inspections under Articles 14 and 15, respectively.

Hosseini Shahroudi, secretary general of the Iranian Home Appliances Association, wrote a letter to the head of the judiciary in support of domestic producers, calling for a ban on the clearance of Bosch home appliances imported into the country.
