Kashmiri creator of Imam Khomeini portrait dies + photo


According to Fars News Agency, quoting KashmirRider, “Akhtar Rasoul”, a graphic designer and employee of Kashmir University, died yesterday (Sunday, October 9) due to cardiac arrest at his home in Baba Pura area in the center of Kashmir. Different people from different walks of life prayed on the body of the late artist.

Professor Talaat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, described the death of this graphic artist as tragic and said in his message of condolence: Rasoul was a talented graphic designer whose contribution to the branding and promotion of the university through his professional efforts will always be remembered.

Akhtar, a graduate of the Institute of Music and Fine Arts from Kashmir University, is currently working at the University Education Multimedia Research Center (EMMRC). He has worked for many print newspapers in Kashmir, including “Greater Kashmir”.

Alireza Qazveh, the Deputy Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Delhi, whose mission in India ended last week, said about Akhtar Rasool: “He had a special devotion to the Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini and the Ahl al-Bayt (as).” One of the most enduring works that Akhtar Rasool did during his career was drawing the face of Imam Khomeini in an innovative way. He used hundreds of photos of Imam Khomeini to create this image.
