Khalid Meshaal: Saudi Arabia arrests and tortures Hamas members

According to the report of Fars News Agency, “Khaled Meshaal”, the head of the Islamic resistance movement of Hamas outside Palestine, in an interview with Al Jazeera, expressed the positions of this movement and the internal conditions of Palestine and the region.

In an interview with “Al-Janb Al-Akhr” program, he expressed his regret that the internal space of Palestine is witnessing several factions of different groups, and about the roots of such a situation, he said that the main reason for this is the international community, which did not accept the results of the Palestinian legislative elections in 2006; The elections were won by Hamas and Western countries refused to cooperate with Hamas, and some threatened the self-governing organizations that if they cooperate with Hamas, they will no longer provide financial aid to Ramallah. Khalid Meshaal considered the pressures and efforts of the Zionist regime as the most important reason for this position of Western countries.

The former head of the political office of Hamas said that one of the reasons for the multiplicity was the non-acceptance of partnership by some Palestinian groups and said that they were looking for a unilateral decision and some were conspiring against Hamas. In this regard, Khalid Meshaal mentioned “Mohammed Dahlan”, one of the expelled leaders of the Fatah movement, who was plotting against Hamas.

Meshaal added: “Dahlan promised international and regional parties that he would destroy Hamas within a few months. “He was also after a coup against the Palestinian National Unity Government.”

Khalid Meshaal then stated that the Hamas movement, contrary to Riyadh’s accusation, still adheres to the 2007 Mecca agreement; He added: “I told one of the late Saudi princes that the Makkah Agreement for the prevention of bloodshed has been reached, and according to it, a national unity government headed by Ismail Haniyeh should be formed.”

Torture of Hamas members in Saudi Arabia

“Khaled Meshaal” continued to deny any change of position on the part of Hamas regarding Saudi Arabia and said that this movement did not slander any country and does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.

He emphasized: “It is not right to punish Hamas for supporting the resistance.” He further said that more than 60 members of Hamas are under severe torture in Saudi Arabia.

Khalid Meshaal, by stating the question, who benefits the torture of Hamas members and why were they tried? He called for the quick release of the detainees and stressed that Hamas has never been involved in the disputes of Arab countries.

The head of Hamas outside Palestine went on to say that the origin of the Hamas Brotherhood does not mean that this movement is with the Muslim Brotherhood or political Islam, but that Hamas is a Palestinian and Islamic movement that seeks to fulfill the Palestinians’ desire for liberation.

Khalid Meshaal also said that self-defense is a legitimate right in Islam and all religions and international laws, and the actions of Hamas are considered legitimate resistance.

He went on to say that some European countries secretly meet with Hamas leaders at different levels, and most of the world’s countries have indirectly communicated with Hamas.

In another part of this conversation, the head of Hamas discussed the reasons for Hamas’s withdrawal from Syria at the same time as the unrest began and said that this decision was taken by the leadership of Hamas and himself at the head of it because the security situation in Damascus was no longer such that Hamas could fulfill its responsibilities. give

While admitting that the aforementioned decision affected the relations between Hamas and Iran, Meshaal added: But the relations with the Iranians were never interrupted and are still ongoing, Iran’s support for Hamas is still there despite their difficult conditions. Relations with Iran do not mean that it affects the independence of Hamas’s decision-making, or ends up at the expense of Palestine’s national interests, or that it means an agreement with this country or other cases.
