Khatibzadeh: NATO should know that the path of confrontation does not have a happy ending – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told Russia’s Sputnik news agency that Iran-Russia relations are strategic and we will not allow any issue to disrupt these relations.

He added: “Tehran is making every effort to establish peace between Moscow and Kiev.” In this regard, Iran intends to launch a new round of mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine.

Referring to NATO actions and policies, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman continued: “The root of the current events is NATO expansion and ignoring the security and political considerations of the countries.” NATO must know that the path of confrontation does not have a happy ending.

Earlier, Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, had stated that Tehran’s interaction with Moscow in the military and defense spheres was not limited to the purchase of military equipment.

He also told Russia’s Sputnik news agency that Iran was waiting for Putin to visit Tehran. The Iranian ambassador to Russia also said that good decisions have been made between Iran and Russia in the field of production and development of oil and gas fields.

Jalali added: Iran has developed a cooperation plan in the field of oil and gas and delivered it to Russia. He added that Iranian and Russian companies may set up oil and gas equipment production plants with export prospects.

The Iranian ambassador to Russia also said that Iran could make up for the deficit in the knowledge-based economy in Russia caused by Western sanctions. Despite sanctions against Moscow, Iran intends to increase trade with Russia, and both countries are working to remove obstacles.

He added: “Iran intends to increase grain imports from Russia.” It is possible to buy more than 20 million tons of grains and oilseeds annually.
