He believes that if we want to generate income and economic development in the field of historical tourism, we should be able to create facilities such as resorts, protection and campaigns in ancient sites in all regions of Khuzestan province.

Motamedi pointed out: Obtaining information about the customs of the past is the rich cultural and historical support of every Iranian citizen, which gives him identity and self-confidence and is a source of national pride.

Also, Shahrukh Bahadurqnavati, a member of the Behbahan Cultural Heritage Lovers Association, said: “The rituals, beliefs and customs left behind by the past can lead the way and influence the economy, livelihood and culture of the society.”

He added: A discovery made by a historian or an archaeologist can change the way of thinking and looking at the ancestors and the past. Therefore, human learning from the path of the predecessors makes man use his ancient works and cultural heritage, which is like his identity, more wisely.

Also, Mohammad Azarkish, a member of the Dezful Cultural Heritage Lovers Association, said: In addition to promoting tourism, the cultural and historical heritage of Khuzestan province can organize significant measures, the results of which can be seen in various fields, including job creation and cultural development.

He clarified: Unfortunately, in recent years, some of the ancient sites have been turned into agricultural land, and some others have been subjected to unauthorized excavations, and the continuation of this situation can destroy the cultural assets of this generation and future generations.

According to this cultural heritage lover, the branding of Khuzestan province is not only related to oil, but its prominent feature is its location and historical tourism capacity, which always distinguishes it from other regions.

Azarkish, stating that Khuzestan province has the first rank in the registration of historical monuments, said: Currently, a serious challenge for the cultural heritage of Khuzestan province is to explore and protect the historical and cultural heritage. Therefore, preservation and maintenance of historical monuments and preventing their destruction should be one of the priorities of those in charge of protecting these works.

Also, Abolfazl Mehdipour, a member of the Shushtar Cultural Heritage Lovers Association, said: “Discovering historical monuments and displaying them for tourists and people is an important factor for introducing Iran’s ancient culture and civilization to the world.”

Mehdipour reminded: Due to the limitations in funding, the participation of the private sector is important and necessary for the restoration and restoration of historical monuments.

Stating that each of the historical monuments of Khuzestan province have the potential to attract tourists, he added: People’s participation to preserve and maintain historical monuments is a necessity that should always be followed by the government.

This lover of cultural heritage suggested: To deal with the destruction of historical monuments in our country, we can take effective measures such as recounting the cultural and historical importance of the works through the media, serious legal prosecution of the destruction and informing students about the importance of historical and cultural monuments in the form of formal education in the education system.
