This car was first unveiled as a concept in 2020, and a few months later, its mass-produced version entered the markets of India, South America, Vietnam, and South Africa. Of course, Sonnet was first produced only for the Indian market, but it gradually entered other markets due to its acceptable performance and reasonable price.

This version has a 5-speed manual gearbox that transfers power to the front wheels of the car.

Another engine that is placed on this car is a 3-cylinder 1-liter turbocharged engine that has the ability to produce 118 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque. The gearbox of this version is 6-speed automatic.

But the version that will most likely enter Iran is equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that can produce 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. Also, the gearbox of this version is automatic CVT, which transfers the driving power to the front axle. The fuel consumption of this version is about 5.7 liters per hundred kilometers and its maximum speed will reach about 170 kilometers.

The Sonet diesel version is also equipped with a 1.5-liter engine, which moves through a 6-speed AT automatic gearbox and a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox. This version is mostly for the Indian and South American market and it is unlikely to enter the Iranian market.

Comfort and safety facilities of Kia Sonata

As we mentioned earlier, Kia Sonata has several trims and versions. The basic version of this car, which has a price of about 15-17 thousand dollars, has minimal comfort and safety features, including ABS and EBD brakes, multimedia system with a small screen, 4 airbags, manual ventilation system, reverse gear sensor and monitoring system. The tires are inflated.

But the Full Sonnet version, which has a price of around 20-21 thousand dollars, has more features, including a sunroof, air vents for the rear passengers, a multimedia system with a large integrated screen, automatic air conditioning system, the ability to connect to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a rear camera. It is equipped with electric steering, traction and stability control system, front and rear parking sensor, push button start, 6 airbags and tire inflation monitoring system.
