Kremlin: The dollar will be removed from trade exchanges between Iran and Russia – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to the report of Mehr news agency, quoted by Sputnik, according to what the spokesperson of the Russian presidency said, the dollar will probably not play a role in trade exchanges between Moscow and Tehran in the near future.

Dimitri Peskov, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Tehran, said that Moscow and Tehran are reliable friends and partners.

The Kremlin spokesman also emphasized that Iran and Russia will gradually abandon the use of the US dollar to evaluate the scope of their bilateral trade.

Peskov further added: We all know that trade and economic relations between the two countries exceeded four billion US dollars last year. Although it is probably wrong to calculate it in dollars, and with the passage of time and probably with the development of our cooperation in the banking sector, we will move away from this trend.

This Russian official positively evaluated the trade trend between the two countries and noted that the net trade between Russia and Iran has grown by 31% in the past few months. According to Peskov, Russia and the Islamic Republic have the opportunity to work together to reduce the effect of sanctions.

Peskov also expressed hope that the cooperation agreement between Iran and Russia will be signed soon after the approval of some amendments.

The President of Russia will leave for the Islamic Republic of Iran tomorrow, Tuesday.
