Kremlin: We have been looking for economic relations with Iran for a long time – Mehr News Agency Iran and world’s news



According to Mehr News Agency, quoted by Tass News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson of the Russian Presidential Office (Kremlin), stated today that the country’s cooperation with Tehran is the path of Moscow’s long-standing foreign policy.

The spokesperson of the Russian presidential office continued in a conversation with Russian Channel One: the contacts between Russia and Iran are not sporadic, but rather the long-term path of this country’s foreign policy.

Dimitri Peskov added: “Cooperation with Iran is not sporadic in nature, but has been the long-term path of our foreign policy.” We have been looking for economic relations with Iran for a long time, and these relations have a very long history and a solid foundation.

In explaining Moscow’s long relations with Tehran, this Russian official mentioned the Bushehr nuclear power plant joint project, which started with the cooperation of Iran and Russia.

In the end, Peskov clarified: the cooperation between the two countries is future-oriented. This relationship will have a solid history and a bright future for the benefit of both parties.

This is while Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Tehran a few hours ago and was welcomed by the Iranian authorities.

“Vladimir Putin” immediately after arriving at the airport, went to the presidential office and met with Hojat-ul-Islam Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.

In this meeting, the presidents of Iran and Russia discussed further expansion of relations in various fields, including energy, transit and commercial exchanges, as well as regional developments.

After the talks between Raisi and Putin, the presidents of the two countries went to the Supreme Leader’s office to meet with His Holiness.
