According to Mehr news agency, Igor Kolakovic, the head coach of the Serbian national team, said after his students’ defeat against Iran and being disappointed in advancing to the final stage of the League of Nations: First of all, I must congratulate the Iranian team. It was a very good game. I wish them success in the quarter final stage of this competition and I hope to see the Iranian team in the final of this competition. During these matches, the Iranian team played exceptionally well.

He further added: In the first set, we had the opportunity to finish this set in our favor. But the Iranians showed us that they will fight until the last point. I am proud of young players when they play like this. Milad was the leader of this team who accompanied them until the last moment.

Kulakovic further said about the new generation of Iranian volleyball: As I said, I am proud of young players when they play in this way. I was not surprised by their performance because I knew that Iranian young players won the world championship in the basic ranks and in this tournament they had the opportunity to prove their abilities.

In their 12th meeting in the preliminary stage of the League of Nations, Iran’s national volleyball team defeated Serbia decisively and 3-0 to advance to the final stage of this competition in Italy.
