The head of Kurdistan’s General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts added: Kumsai is one of the programs that are held every year in the middle of May in this global region in a special and magnificent way.

He stated: This Friday ceremony was attended by provincial and city officials, local people and thousands of tourists and people interested in this traditional ritual from inside and outside the country, in an area adjacent to Seyyed Mostafa’s shrine, known as Pirshalyar, one of the descendants of Imam Jafar Sadiq. Mehrzad reminded: the exhibition of handicrafts and souvenirs of the region, tambourine playing, performance of Shamshal Horami and poetry reading were among the side programs of this ritual ceremony, which was accompanied by the unique reception of tourists.

Kumsai in Horami is composed of two words “ku” meaning assembly and “masai” meaning learning.

It is narrated that according to the special situation of the region and the culture of cooperation and coexistence derived from the harsh nature of Horaman and the culture of nomadism and nomadism, every year in the middle of spring, people would leave the village and migrate to far and near steppes in the region for a period of more than six months. They were away from each other for a year, and before the migration, they felt it necessary to organize a meeting and a ceremony, divide the necessary social affairs among themselves and leave them to the qualified people, and they were preparing for the migration.

Behind this story, a legend is told that Pirshalyar was a noble man and had special virtues, for example, it is said that he was able to heal Shahbaharkhatun, who was a deaf and dumb girl.

There are also traditions that one day one of Pirshalyar’s disciples named Dervish Gomar went to Pirshalyar and complained about the lack of milk for his animals. Pirshalyar told him that there is a stone near the grave of a dervish who was a veterinarian, take a piece of it and put it into musk. Tie your livestock so that their milk increases; For this reason, at the end of the Kumsai ceremony, they still break a piece of white stone near Pirshalyar’s tomb and take it with them for blessing, which according to the belief of the people of Horaman, has a blessing effect.

It is worth mentioning that Pir Shaliar’s wedding ceremony is one of the common celebrations in Horaman world region, which is held every year in the middle of Bahman at the same time as the century celebration. This ceremony is actually the wedding anniversary of a legendary old man named Shaliar, which is rooted in the myths, beliefs and ancient rituals of the people of this land.

Horaman Takht region is 60 kilometers south of Marivan city and west of Sarovabad city with a population of more than 3,500 people surrounded by the towering mountains of Takhthani, Pirrostam, Meleh Asb and Kosalan, and the symbol and beating heart of Horaman global region is considered as a historical and cultural landscape. .
