The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said: Last year we had a total of 50 million overnight stays, and this year this number has reached 57.1. This statistic includes official, unofficial and emergency stays.
According to Moj News Agency, Ezzatullah Zarghami, the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, on the sidelines of the government delegation meeting, told reporters about the statistics of Nowruz trips: This year, we saw a 15% increase in Nowruz trips, of course, this figure is for March 25 to April 15. Of course, these trips are still going on due to the holidays.
He stated: Last year we had a total of 50 million overnight stays, and this year this number has reached 57.1. This statistic includes official, unofficial and emergency stays.
Zarghami emphasized: In the 13th government, we have added a lot of capacity to the accommodation sector and various institutions provided their accommodation facilities to the people. Therefore, we have seen the growth of trips, especially in the lower levels, we have had more trips.
The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts stated: Of course, high-end hotels are filled to capacity in the first days, and after that, those from a lower economic status use other accommodation centers.
He explained the order of the provinces of the country in receiving Nowruz trips and said: Mazandaran is the first place, Gilan and Razavi Khorasan have won the second and third place respectively in attracting Nowruz tourists.
At the same time, Zarghami stated that “Travel Headquarters” is a clear example of the unity of the government’s executive bodies, and reminded that: despite the fact that some people try to show differences in viewpoints or how to implement the tricks with marginal news, we witnessed 27 sets of the most important government bodies. They operate in the travel headquarters of the country and provide significant services to the people.
