Launching handicraft markets in supply and demand is a priority

According to the report of Aria Heritage, according to the public relations of the General Directorate of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts of Qom, Engineer Seyed Ezatollah Zarghami visited the ring-making and jewelry-making workshop in Qom before noon on Thursday, January 30, 2010.

On the sidelines of this visit, he participated in a meeting of Qom handicraft organizations and examined the problems and obstacles of activists in this field.

“Launching handicraft markets, supply and demand is one of our policies and priorities,” said the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, emphasizing on solving the problems of artisans.

“Many decorative items have been removed from people’s shopping carts and they can not afford them, which has affected the economics of related industries,” he said, noting that many people are facing livelihood problems today.

“Industrialists, like woodcarvers, have to perform on goods that are most needed by the people in order to make the market prosperous,” Zarghami continued.

“We are proud of valuable industries such as inlaid goods, and there must be a change in this area,” he said, noting that our artisans must work at both the general and professional levels.
