LG unveils Gram 16 and 17 laptops with 12th generation Intel processors

LG Gram laptops were introduced last year with 11th generation Intel processors and Iris Xe integrated graphics. Now the company has unveiled the new generation and upgraded versions of these laptops with 12th generation Intel processors and Nvidia’s proprietary RTX 2050 graphics.
Specifications of LG Gram 16 and 17 laptops
There are two new versions of this series, LG Gram 16 and 17, which naturally have the number in their name as the size of their screen. Both displays have a 16: 9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, IPS LCD panel with 99% coverage of DCI-P3 color space and light protection.
The 17-inch model will come with two Core i5 (i5-1240P) or i7 (i7-1260P) processors, while the 16-inch version will only be equipped with the i5 processor. Some models will have integrated Iris Xe graphics and others will have RTX 2050 graphics.
As the name implies, these laptops are both lightweight notebooks. The 16-inch version weighs 1,285 grams and the 17-inch version 1,435 grams. These laptops will be equipped with a 90-watt-hour battery in the separate graphics version, and their integrated graphics version will have an 80-watt-hour battery. Both versions will have a 65 watt charger.

LG claims that the i7 model of these laptops (12th generation vs. 11th generation) is up to 70% faster. These laptops also have a PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD, which is 22% faster. The capacity of this memory starts from 256 GB, but both versions will have slots to increase it.

The RAM capacity of Gram 16 and 17 laptops also started from 8 GB and increased to 32 GB. But you have to decide before buying it because the LPDDR5 RAMs of these laptops are soldered to the motherboard.
Connections to the two devices include two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with Thunderbolt 4 and USB Power Delivery along with a full-size HDMI, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card reader. Wireless connections also include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1.

LG has come up with some cool tricks for these laptops using a webcam and artificial intelligence. For example, if you use a secondary display such as the LG Gram + View monitor (pictured below), the mouse pointer will move from one monitor to another with your gaze. In addition, if the webcam detects people behind you, it automatically dims the screen to prevent them from looking.

LG New heats They will be available in South Korea from April (mid-April). The LG Gram 16 will be available in the i5 / 16 GB / 256 GB version for around $ 1885 or € 1700. The price of the LG Gram 17 in the i5 / 16 GB / 256 GB version will be $ 1970 or 1780 Euros.

Shoppers in Korea will receive a LG Gram + View portable monitor along with other products as a gift by pre-selling these laptops in the initial phase. It is not yet clear when the new Gram models will hit the market in other parts of the world. But it is not bad to know that their previous generation had entered the American market a month before its release in Korea.
